I met a saint in Rishikesh. He had spent 10-12 years in the peaks of Badrinath, engaged in isolated sadhana devoted to Narayan. He is above 50 years of age, yet he still looks like a 25 year old young man. I asked him, “What would you suggest to a person who wants to live a peaceful and happy life?” He replied, “Practice detachment. Do not attach yourself to your desires.” I then asked, “What if we drop all our desires?” He answered, “It is very hard for you, and for most people, dropping all desires is not possible. Instead, have positive desires that can do good for the world, and do not attach yourself to any of them.” The saint has wonderful knowledge of Bhrigu astrology and possesses a few rare manuscripts related to astrology.
